GIS-based Transit Routing Map via the Web

This web site is maintained as a testing site by the Geographic Information System (GIS) Section of the Transportation Analysis Department at OCTA. The primary purpose is to demonstrate how GIS and Internet technology can be integrated to enhance public access to transit routing information. Please note this work effort is in the conceptual design stage, the transit information shown are for testing only and are not intended for public use.

Proposed Project Concepts

1. Mapping Trip Planner

This improved trip itinerary system provides routing and schedule information. It also displays maps with trip information such as routing, origin, destination, boarding and alighting locations.

  2. Interactive Bus System Map

The proposed Bus System Map will identify which routes serve the user-selected location or landmark. By clicking a route on the map, the user can get more detailed transit information.
